I've always believed that we should live life not getting used to things. Do you know what I mean? I think that a live that's too comfortable and that follows a daily routine is not an ideal one. I think that when you get too used to something, you stop wanting to change things. You'll no longer want to change your environment and your situation... You won't want to change yourself.
I was watching TV a few weeks ago and I saw this girl being interviewed in her car. She was all dressed up and obviously well-off. Apparently, there was a rally that day and like every other rally in existence, it was causing traffic. She was moaning and groaning about how these people were inconveniencing her and so and so. I think that just shows how selfish we've all become. It made me wonder, does she know what those people are fighting for? Does she know what they've been through? Does she understand what it's like to be jobless and have no money to feed her children? Does she know that our country is sinking deeper and deeper into poverty and it's about time that we did something about it?
I firmly believe that if something needs to be changed, we should do everything we can to change it. You may be against all these rallies, and really, that's fine. But before you speak against it, LISTEN to what they're fighting for. UNDERSTAND their cause. Do not condemn them because for all you know, what they're fighting for could be worth it.
Again, I must reiterate the importance of SOCIAL-AWARENESS. I, for one, sometimes forget the importance of reading the newspaper. Do you know what the Executive Order No. 464 is? Do you know how many court cases against GMA have been put "on hold" because of this? Do you know that students are no longer allowed to join rallies? Do you know that one acre of trees is lost each second? Do you know that world leaders are planning to trash the 8 MDGs? Do you know that the Clean Air Act has already been trashed? Well, if you don't... Read up.
KNOW YOUR FACTS.
